The Glock 42 is the smallest GLOCK pistol, offering ultra-compact size and easy firing. It features Glock's Safe Action System, which provides consistent trigger pull from the first round to the last. Three automatic, independent mechanical safety devices are installed in the firing system of the pistol. All three safety devices are sequentially disabled when the trigger is pulled and reset automatically when the trigger is released. The frame is made of polymer with hardened steel rails. It has an ideal grip angle and low weight. The slide stop lever and magazine catch are easily accessible through the firing arm. The slider's advanced surface treatment achieves optimum stiffness by significantly reducing wear and tear and is corrosion resistant even in salt water conditions. Matte finish reduces light reflections. The barrel is mechanically locked and is cold hammer forged. It also has the same premium finish as the rails. Its extractor serves as a chamber indicator to comply with some state laws, and it's positioned to visually and physically indicate the presence of a cartridge in the pistol's chamber.

Glock G42 White Dot 380 Auto (ACP) 3.25" Black Pistol - 6+1 Rounds - The G42 is ideal for the discerning shooter who wants the smallest Glock. At 380 Auto (ACP), it features ultra-compact dimensions and an easy-to-shoot Features. The G42 includes all the features that Glock customers love. From the Glock Safe Action system to the many integrated safety features to the brand's proven reliability and durability. No problem. I wear a suit most of the time and can I keep my pistol in Uncle Mike's pocket holster in the inside breast pocket of the jacket, or in the Vedder clip-on IWB (accessory) without anyone noticing.
This weapon has very low recoil. My 9-12 year olds were with me at the range shooting this and they had no problem shooting it. My oldest is my G26 and G23/G19 (I have a conversion barrel...thanks!) He likes to shoot with the G42 because of the lower recoil.
I didn't like the trigger so I got a 3.5lb coupler to ease the long pulls by breaking tight. Maybe it's the size and weight of the gun, but apparently the trigger pull is longer and breaking is "difficult".
Review: Glock's Model 42 And Crimson Trace's Lg 443
This is the first Glock I bought and I don't regret it! A friend recommended it to me. Say I should get 42 or 43. I chose 42 because it's compact and easy to hide. Hope to get 43 in the end. Swapped this gun for my Taurus 738. He has a lot of problems with jam. Glock doesn't have this problem. Looking forward to doing some rounds at this distance.
Plus it's fun to shoot. Having a Ruger LC9s is "fast" for my wrist and thumb (arthritic and poorly repaired thumb) as is my son's G43...dual thumb (G26) is like... the best for me good world. Small, light, easy to shoot (accurate!), and very effective with the "right" ammunition (I like the Lehigh Xtreme Defender). Reliable, typical Glock quality. very good!
Novices and I love shooting. Glock 19 is my original, bought in 2014 to learn how to handle, clean etc. This has been a lot of use for the past 4 weeks since I registered for my concealed weapons license and wanted to pass the shooting part as well. This should be easy. But as the class drew near, I realized I didn't want to carry such a large weapon. I love my baby Glock! It's cute, but don't be fooled by "cute"! Guns are behavior! No noticeable recoil for me, but the shooting is a bit surprising since almost no gun can absorb fireworks! I'm sure I'll get used to it, but I'll use the Glock 19 for the pull test. Ha ha
